Alco Chemical announces price increase on aqueous polymers, rheology modifiers

CHATTANOOGA, TN, July 24, 2007 -- Alco Chemical, a National Starch and Chemical Company, has announced a price increase in the United States and Canada on its aqueous polymer and rheology modifier product lines. Increases range from 5 percent to 8 percent and are effective August 20, 2007, or as contracts allow. Continued escalation in monomer, caustic and energy costs are the reason for these increases, according to company officials.

Alco Chemical is a leading manufacturer of specialty polymers used in water treatment, detergents, paper and adhesives.
